Research theme

Our objective is to generate novel mathematical sciences that explicate life phenomena and to evolve them into new engineering disciplines such as design, production, and control. To achieve this end, it is imperative to undertake an extensive investigation of various facets of life systems, to fully utilize algorithmic reasoning, and to apply mathematics to craft new systems that enhance the quality of life. This burgeoning science can be utilized to examine both natural and man-made phenomena, providing insights into novel ways of viewing the world. By comprehending the fundamental principles of extant systems, the same concepts can be applied to improve existing systems or to foster the introduction of entirely novel designs and applications. The potential for applying mathematical science to create superior systems is boundless. Our aim is to occupy a preeminent position in this burgeoning field.

Professor Yasuhiro Inoue, the Principal Investigator, has been engaged in research on biological morphogenesis, self-organization, emergence of collective cooperation, link mechanisms, rheology of complex fluids, composite materials, soft matter, molecular dynamics, and network theory. He is particularly interested in dynamics and statistical physics, but also encourages students to identify and explore specific research themes that align with their own interests and goals, fostering their own original and interdisciplinary research.  Lecturer Senami is working on constructing and implementing new theories to understand physical properties from quantum field theory.
